When I was younger I lived like I was never going to die. Now I want to really live before I die. I do not want to sacrifice my health to make more money. I want to enjoy the present moment and not worry about the future. The Dalai Lama stated,
There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday, and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live.
The problem is life gets in the way. When I’m working I’m busy and it’s hard to remember the quiet from which all activity springs. How do I stop and listen in between the noise of work and my nonstop spinning mind? I have a poster in front of me of Saki Santorelli’s 21 Ways to Reduce Stress During the Workday. Some days I don’t even notice it. Today I will take the time to be quiet, pay attention, and live for today.
