The Virtual International Day of the Midwife is a free online conference that is held every year on the 5th May. The aim of the conference is to provide networking and learning opportunities for midwives and anyone else interested in birth. It’s not so hidden agenda is to increase midwives’ digital literacy and introduce them to the concept of networked learning. The event has been supported by committed and enthusiastic educators, some of which have no midwifery background but do it for the love of learning.
Here is a short recording of our Collaborate session with Sarah Stewart, education facilitator with the Education Development Centre at Otago Polytechnic, New Zealand and midwifery lecturer with Griffith University in Brisbane Australia.
